Cute Song -- Sums Up a Dilemma of Development

G'Day Friends --

"There's a Hole in the Bucket" is a song that sums up -- in a humorous way -- one of the classic dilemmas of development. You'll find the lyrics at:

http://www.songsforteaching.com/folk/theresaholeinthebucket.htm

Many other songs useful for teachers working in English language settings will be found on the home site:

I hope you'll find the above information to be of interest.

A Little Humor -- Computer Error Messages in Haiku

G'Day Friends --

The "spoof" of computer error messages in haiku format has been on the 'Net for quite awhile. But here's a version that's been jazzed up a bit with some simple graphics and a sound file or two. Hope you enjoy it.

http://www.angelfire.com/ca5/yourturf3/errorhaiku.htm

The "Good News" for today is that we've added numerous TakingITGlobal links to regional sections of the Free University's "World" page, at:

http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/yourturf/worldcivactnet01.htm

But the "Bad News" was discovering that the outstanding site "Idealist.org" has changed the URLs of its component pages -- so all of our links for Idealist need to be updated. A vexatious development, but we'll try to get hopping and have everything functioning properly again in a day or two.

Domestic NGOs Undertaking International Action

G'Day All --

Three or four years ago I compiled some suggestions for domestic non-profit civic action and community service organizations in the USA that might be interested in expanding the scope of their activities to some part of the international arena.

I'm sure the list as originally written was far from perfect. Today it probably needs to be considerably updated and expanded.

If you have any interest in reviewing it, and possibly offering your comments and suggestions as to how it could be improved, you are most cordially invited to do so.

You can find it on the Web at:

http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/yourturf4/internatimpactoptions.html

I would be very glad to receive whatever comments you'd like to share. Also, of course, it would be interesting to learn whether you think any of the recommendations in the document might prove useful for your own activities, and/or the organization(s) with which you are affiliated.

Thanks for your time and attention, and best wishes for complete success in all that you undertake !!
